Brief introduction:  This light trekking with radial trips takes you to the north-west of Georgia, Svaneti region, an area between the two ridges of Caucasus, which was completely isolated 100 years ago and has retained its amazing charm to this day. During the trek we will get over 3.000 m high passes and be able to admire the 5.000 m glaciated giants of Central Caucasus. We will see the original mountain villages with typical stone towers, characteristic for this mountainous region. We will get beneath the feet of the highest Georgian mountain Shkhara and the Caucasian beauty - Ushba.

Detailed Travel Itinerary:

Day 1 – Arrival in the Mountains

The adventure begins with a flight to Kutaisi, followed by a transfer to Mazeri with a stop in Zugdidi. After a long journey, a traditional dinner and rest at a mountain guesthouse will be well deserved. (Transfer: 5–6 hours)

Day 2 – To the Ushba Waterfalls

After breakfast, the trek to the majestic Ushba Waterfalls begins. The waterfalls cascade down the rocky cliffs beneath one of the most impressive peaks of the Caucasus. There will be time for relaxation and refreshment by the small lake under the falls. Later, a transfer to Mestia concludes the day with dinner and an overnight stay. (12 km / 4–6 hours)

Day 3 – Chaladi Glacier & Free Time

A short morning transfer takes you to the start of the trail leading to Chaladi Glacier, where massive ice walls and melting streams await. The hike is not difficult. In the afternoon, enjoy free time—visit Mestia’s museum or relax in the town. The evening features traditional Svanetian specialties. (5 km / 2–3 hours)

Day 4 – Hike to Koruldi Lakes & Sauna with a View

Today’s mountain trails lead to the stunning Koruldi Lakes, which reflect the towering Caucasus peaks. After returning to Mestia, relax in a well-deserved sauna with panoramic views of Ushba. (13 km / 5–6 hours)

Day 5 – Journey to Zhabeshi

The day starts with a cable car ride to Mount Zuruldi, offering breathtaking views of the Caucasus. From there, a scenic hike across mountain pastures leads to Zhabeshi. After dinner, spend the night in a peaceful mountain guesthouse. (14 km / 6–7 hours)

Day 6 – To the Highest Village in Europe

Transfer to Ushguli, one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. Along the way, stop at the legendary Tower of Love. In the afternoon, there is an option to trek (or ride a horse) towards Mount Shkhara, Georgia’s highest peak. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay in Ushguli. (12 km / 4–5 hours)

Day 7 – Return via Prometheus Caves

Morning departure towards Kutaisi with a stop at the stunning Prometheus Caves, famous for their underground halls and lakes. A visit to Tskaltubo follows, where you’ll enjoy a local wine tasting. The last evening in Georgia includes dinner and an overnight stay in Kutaisi. (Total transfer: 6–7 hours)

Day 8 – Departure Home

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and farewell to Georgia, full of unforgettable memories.

During the trek, you only need to carry your personal items, clothing, and documents. Food, drinks, and accommodation are fully provided! Any extra luggage (clean clothes, etc.) can be stored at the hotel in Kutaisi and will be ready for you upon return.

Your main luggage will always be transported to the next overnight stop. You only need to carry a daypack with essentials such as a jacket, headlamp, gloves, snacks, and water.
